"Methadone Treatment, Pregnancy and Legal Issues: What the Experts have to Say" will be a half-day, interdisciplinary workshop that addresses methadone treatment for pregnant women in Tennessee, particularly focusing on issues faced in the legal system.
The program will feature nationally-renowned researchers, social workers, medical professionals, and legal experts, as well as parents in recovery who can speak from direct experience. The workshop will discuss issues with stereotypes, treatment goals, barriers to recovery and risk factors for pregnant women and service providers, as well as give an overview of how these play out in the legal system.
